Linux Network App

While doing a search for another application that I need I ran across an article about networking and how to monitor your netowrk and traffic data within your network.  There are several applications that are listed and several commands that you can use within your linux distro.

Here is the article I found, in case anyone wants to read the whole thing. I found it quite enjoyable to read.

One of the applications that I really liked was called:
iptraf

This gives a command line visual view of your network activity and is highly configurable to see data that you want. It shows in real time where you traffic is and where its going, etc.  The best part ist hat its within the ubuntu repositories so you dont have to do any funky install stuff.

To install:
sudo apt-get install iptraf
