Linux and old laptops

I have decided that Linux and old laptops is just not ever going to happen for me. I have an old Micron Trek2 laptop that I was hoping to install a version on linux on and use that as a basic system for some of my Amateur Radio packet data. Alas after many different attempts and tries I could not get anything to work on it.

I think that its just too old and have given up on it ever working, I am going to retire that system and perhaps get a newer system that I know would support it.

I tried Ubuntu, Fedora Core 4, Ulite, Redhat, Fedora 11, Puppy, DSL, and others. Nothing works.

Forget about it…..
